The first west-coast Disney Vacation Club resort now has a formal name:
Back in February we reported that the Disney Vacation Club had plans to open its model units for the Graand Californian Villas before the beginning of the summer season. Not only is Disney going to meet that deadline, but it appears DVC members will be among the first to see the Vacation Club designs for "The Happiest Place on Earth."
DVCNews.com has learned that conversion work on the Disney Vacation Club models at the Disneyland Resort is progressing rapidly, and Disney has a timeframe in mind for unveiling the models to the general public.
Many DVC members were initially disappointed when its first west coast expansion was announced. That disappointment is rooted in the terribly small scope of DVC's first Disneyland-based resort--a meager fifty villas a the Grand Californian Hotel. Well, Honor Hunter tells us there may yet be more villas added to the queue.
Although construction began back in September 2007, little is currently known regarding the DVC project at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. We know there will be a total of fifty DVC Villas and we've seen a couple pieces of concept art. But otherwise Disney has been rather quiet on the subject. That didn't stop us from doing a little digging of our own.
