In 2008 Disney announced its intention to build 50 Disney Vacation Club units at Disneyland's Grand Californian Resort. But when will sales begin?
Site contributor David Welty received a letter confirming that sales will begin on January 25, 2009.
Multiple reports suggest that a January 2009 sales start date was mentioned during the recent Condo Association meetings. We checked with a Disney Vacation Club representative to see if they would shed any additional light on the timing.
Officially, DVC had this to say:
We anticipate that we'll open sales for Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa Villas in early 2009, but we have not yet made a final decision on the launch date for sales for this exciting new project.
That response from DVC is actually several days old and it appears they did come to a decision in the interim. According to our David Welty, sales will begin on January 25, 2009 for those who purchased from a California-based sales guide. These individuals will have a 60-day window, ending on March 25, in which to add up to 160 points at the Grand Californian.
