DVC has released the first piece of concept artwork for the forthcoming addition to Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel:

The long-awaited event has finally arrived--The Walt Disney Company announced an expansion to the Grand Californian Resort which will include the first DVC villas on Disneyland resort property.  Following is the complete text of Disney's formal announcement of the ninth DVC property.

In recent weeks we've shown you images of construction work already underway in Anaheim, now it appears Disney may be ready to spill the beans.  Multiple sources are pointing toward a major announcement on Tuesday, September 18, 2007.  According to Al Lutz of www.MiceAge.com, Disney will finally announce its intention to build a DVC component at Disneyland's Grand Californian Hotel. 

Multiple sources are reporting that the Disney board has approved a budget of nearly one billion dollars worth of renovations to Disney’s California Adventure theme park.  MiceAge.com’s Al Lutz and the increasingly insightful Blue Sky Disney blog both commented on this development last week, declaring the $1Bil investment as being more than Disney originally spent to build DCA.
