Disney's Wilderness Lodge will soon be home to two separate Disney Vacation Club Properties: the original villas renamed Boulder Ridge and the newer component dubbed Copper Creek Villas & Cabins.  Copper Creek points are now on sale for around $165 each (with incentives) for a 50-year contract, 11 month access to the lakefront cabins and participation in DVC discount programs.  Meanwhile Boulder Ridge points can be purchased on the resale market for around $90 per point for 24-25 years of ownership.

Disney Vacation Club has only offered the Fixed Week purchase option for the newest four of its fourteen properties.  The option allows buyers to secure a specific unit size and week every year without any of the uncertainty involved in making reservations.  The buyer can cancel their fixed week at any time and receive the points to use for any other booking, and the Fixed Week is guaranteed to be immune from any future point chart adjustments.  The primary downside appears to the the requirement to purchase 10% more points than the given week would actually cost if booked through normal means.    

 Topic:  If the Fixed Week option were available at the time of your DVC purchase, would you have given it any serious consideration?

Full details are now known for Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  Studio, One Bedroom and Two Bedroom villas cost the same number of points per night as Boulder Ridge Villas.  However, there are differences in the decor of the two facilities, maxiimum room occupancy, location and a number of other details.  

 Topic:  For your next Wilderness Lodge stay, will you book Boulder Ridge or Copper Creek?

In the past week, many details have emerged regarding the Copper Creek Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  We now know that the resort will have a full assortment of Studio, One Bedroom, Two Bedroom and Grand Villas.  It appears that nightly room costs will be comparable to the neighboring Boulder Creek Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.  There is no indication of premium view categories or concierge services.  .

Last week, Disney announced plans to enhance two Moderate resorts at Walt Disney World: Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.  Early details were provided regarding guest room additions, dining and amenities.  Absent from the announcement was any mention of Disney Vacation Club, although DVC is likely part of one or both projects.
