DVCNews Debates: Referral Program

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

Once upon a time, Disney Vacation Club had a referral program which could prove rather beneficial to its most avid supporters.  Current owners would rewards of $200 to $1000 for referring up to 5 new buyers to the timeshare program per calendar year.   Many owner claimed they did DVC's work for them, selling associates on the value of membership before they even spoke to a salesperson.  Sadly the program was eliminated several years ago, leaving members with no tangible incentive for promoting DVC to their friends and family.

The Grand Californian is also one of the most expensive resorts on the resale market due to many of the factors listed above.

DVCNews Debates: Epcot Lounge

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesBack in the spring, Disney Vacation Club unveiled the first ever member-exclusive lounge, located within the confines of the Epcot theme park.  The lounge offers members an air conditioned space to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.  Members can enjoy complimentary beverages and snacks, free use of iPads and computers, charging stations for their own devices, along with spectacular views of the park itself.  Being an owner perk, it is unlikely that DVC dues are being used to fund the lounge.  However if DVC is to invest in such benefits, it makes sense for them to pursue options which most appeal to members.
