DVCNews Debates: Add-On for Perks

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

In 2016, Disney Vacation Club implemented a policy requiring all new members to own points purchased direct from Disney in order to be eligible for most owner perks.  Among those limited perks are the Moonlight Magic theme park evenings, access to the Epcot lounge plus food & merchandise discounts. A direct purchase as small as 25 points would make owners eligible for the perks, but that add-on is still likely to cost consderably more than 25 resale points.

DVCNews Debates: More Extensions?

It has been nearly 10 years since Disney Vacation Club offered 15-year contract extensions to owners at Disney's Old Key West Resort.  The general concensus was that the Old Key West offer was a failure, both in the manner it was handled and in the lukewarm reception from owners.  Still owners continue to express interest in extending their contracts, particularly at popular resorts like Disney's Beach Club Villas and Disney's BoardWalk Villas.

DVCNews Debates: Mixer vs. Moonlight Magic

Recently Disney Vacation Club announced that it was replacing its Christmas season Member Mixers with Moonlight Magic exclusive evenings at Epcot.  Rather than 4-5 weeks of casual member get-togethers with free snacks, character photos and dance parties, owners would be invited to two evenings at the Epcot theme park including free admission and access to select park attractions.

DVCNews Debates: Favorite Moderate

This week, Disney Vacation Club may have taken its first steps toward building villas on the grounds of what is traditionally a moderate resort. Disney's four moderate resorts--yes, we're counting French Quarter and Riverside separately--encompass a variety of themes: New Orleans French Quarter, the old south, a tropical escape and spanish/southwest influence.

DVCNews Debates: Favorite Refurb

Over the past couple of years, more than half of the Disney Vacation Club properties experienced some form of in-room refurbishment.  Among the properties to see changes to decor and furnishings are Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Bay Lake Tower, Vero Beach, Disney's Beach Club, BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas and even the Treehouse Villas. As expected, mixed opinions have been voiced regarding new color palettes, furniture replacements, bath tubs and other changes.  Hopefully some design hits the mark with members.
