Villa upgrades are pretty rare in the Disney Vacation Club world.  High occupancy levels are the primary reason--timeshares are designed to be near 100% occupancy year-round.     

But DVC does retain a small inventory of unreserved rooms which can be used in an emergency.  If a maintenance problem takes a Deluxe Studio room out of commission for a couple of days, some lucky guest may find him or herself upgraded to a vacant One Bedroom.  

 Topic:  Have you ever been upgraded during a DVC points stay?  If known, what were the circumstances of the upgrade? 

Nobody likes to experience problems during their Disney Vacation Club stays, but they do happen.  Could be a room maintenance issue, an injury or illnes to member of your party, some personal item that was lost during the stay...the list is endless.    

In many circumstances, hopefully Disney staff are willing and able to assist in a resolution.  

 Topic:  What is the worst problem you've ever encountered during a DVC stay and were Disney Cast Members able to help with a resolution? 

The Disney resorts and theme parks are not just for kids.  Many adults are drawn to Disney destinations...both with and without their brood in tow. 

But Disney doesn't always seem to cater to the adult market, particularly with the now-complete demise of Pleasure Island.  Still other adult-centric areas of Downtown Disney remain along with Disney's BoardWalk, restaurants which cater largely to adults, special events, etc.  

 Topic:  What are some of your favorite adult-focused locations & activities at the Disney parks and resorts? 

In recent years Disney Vacation Club has offered its members some extra deep discounts on both Annual Passes and Magic Your Way tickets to Walt Disney World.  Both of those offers feature noteworthy limitations--dates by which the passes must be used and/or unique restrictions imposed on their use.  But it does signal that Disney is listening to member feedback requesting admission discounts on media other than Annual Passes. 

 Topic:  In the future, would you rather see DVC members offered more Annual Pass discounts or Magic Your Way discounts?

The Americans with Disabilities Act requires Disney Vacation Club to construct a certain percentage of villas which are modified for disabled guests.  However the number of accessible units seems to often exceed the number of guests requiring such an accommodation.  Due to high DVC occupancy levels, able-bodied guests will occasionally find themselves assigned to an accessible villa.    These assignments are seemingly random, with the guest given little (or no) opportunity to approve or reject the assignment.
