DVCNews Debates: Founding Member

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

With most recent Disney Vacation Club resort debuts, current owners were offered the opportunity to earn "founding member" status by being among the first to purchase points.  Among the perks of the Founding Member designation was some form of recognition at the resort itself--like the fountain tiles at Bay Lake Tower--or a special keepsake like the framed print given to the first group of Grand Californian owners.

DVCNews Debates: Favorite Disney Animated Film

(Let's try something a little more lighthearted for a change.)

Walt Disney Animation Studios has produced dozens of classic films over the years.  It all began at the hand of Walt Disney himself with traditionals like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty.  After several years of misfires, the late-80s started a Disney animation renaissance with the likes of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.  More recently, Frozen broke box office records while films like Tangled and Marvel's Big Hero 6 delight.

DVCNews Debates: Mixer in park

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

Later this month, Disney Vacation Club will host the first in its series of annual Member Merry Mixer events.  As has been the case for several years now, the Mixer will be held at the World Showplace pavilion inside the Epcot theme park.

In its early years, the Mixers were held at a location just outside the Epcot theme park--no park admission was required to enjoy the event.  But with the current venue located inside of a park, members must have valid park admission in order to attend the "free" event.

DVCNews Debate: No park visits

Most people would seem to own Disney Vacation Club points at Walt Disney World or Disneyland because they plan to spend a lot of time in the theme parks.  But that isn't always the case.

Have you ever had a DVC stay near a theme park yet never entered the parks?  Even if you haven't, do you see it ever happening?

DVCNews Debates: Non-park resorts worth it?

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

Disney Vacation Club resorts built outside of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort complexes has been a mixed bag for DVC.  While those locations do add some diversity to the roster of destinations, they are not as popular among buyers.  Additionally, stays at resorts like Vero Beach, Hilton Head and Aulani often end up costing much more than neighboring non-Disney properties.

Topic:  Is it worthwhile to own--or otherwise use--DVC points for stays at the non-park resorts?
