DVCNews Debates: Security

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesIn recent weeks, Disney announced some changes to the resort experience seemingly aimed at improve security at its hotels and timeshare villas.  Some critics have blasted such moves as little more than ineffective "security theater."  However, if security concerns were not impacting guests, there would seem to be little reason for adding to the "theater."

DVCNews Debates: Moonlight Magic vs Merry Mixer

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThe annual DVC Merry Member Mixer was officially retired after the 2016 holiday season, ostensibly replaced by the Moonlight Magic after-hours park events.  For more than a decade, the Mixers were held over a period of 4-5 weeks in November and December offering entertainment, refreshments and character meets during a mid-afternoon session.  Moonlight Magic essentially adds exclusive attraction access to the presentation, albeit during later hours, with limited attendance and on fewer weeks (2 nights at Epcot in 2017.)

DVCNews Debates: Fall Visits

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesThe fall months have emerged as one of the most popular times to visit Walt Disney World.  The Epcot Food & Wine Fest now spans a period of more than 10 weeks, beginning in late August and running into November.  Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are offered on many nights from August - December.  Theme park decor morphs from Halloween / fall to Christmas.  And crowd levels can vary greatly over this period.

DVCNews Debates: Which Two Resorts?

mt_ignore:DVCNews DebatesDespite the fact that Disney Vacation Club now has fourteen distinct destinations, most people can pretty easily identify their one favorite.  But what if you had to choose two resorts to own?  Would it be one at Disneyland and one at Walt Disney World?  One at a theme park and another off-site?  Maybe two unique Walt Disney World resorts?
