Disney has provided a first look at the new deluxe hotel and Disney Vacation Club property on the shores of Bay Lake.
Eighteen months after construction work resumed on the newest DVC resort, we have our first look at plans for the new property. Located between Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge, the resort aims to "pay tribute to decades of animated stories rooted in nature, with subtle nods to classic films — from the lush forests of Bambi and the colorful winds of Pocahontas to the sweeping glacial landscapes of Brother Bear."
Originally announced in 2018 as Reflections - a Disney Lakeside Lodge, the project was an early victim of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ground clearing and foundation work had begun in late 2019 and into 2020. However, undertainty surrounding the global pandemic lead Disney to halt all work on the project. The site remained largely untouched for 4 years, still surrounded by construction fencing.
In late 2024, Disney announced plans to revive the project with a new name: Disney Lakeshore Lodge. The design appears mostly unchanged from the original Reflections concept art, including the arched roof over the lobby and the wings of guest rooms spreading off in both directions.
The resort boasts floor to ceiling windows to help guests appreciate views of Bay Lake the surrounding forest. The project reportedly features 967 rooms of varying sizes. Although a Disney Vacation Club presence has been confirmed, the resort is believed to include a large component of cash hotel rooms as well. Disney has not provided any details regarding the number of villas vs hotels. Lakeshore Lodge will also feature One and Two Bedroom Lake Houses positioned along the shore.
A waterpark-scale pool complex is said to be included with the resort design. Disney plans to announce further details regarding dining and recreation options at a future date.
