After making a brief appearance at last month's Getaway Days event, the model rooms for the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort were quickly shuttered pending final managerial approval. This weekend the walls finally came down.
We're just a few days away from seeing the inside of the Villas at Grand Californian for the first time, so let's take a moment to check out the exterior progress on Disney's big west coast construction project.
Over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, Disneyland will play host to a "Getaway Days" promotional event designed to showcase the Disney Vacation Club to west coast residents. As previously reported, our sources indicate that model rooms for the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort will open to guests for the first time at this event.
Now comes word that the Getaway Days event will be open to both current DVC members and non-members alike.
The first west-coast Disney Vacation Club resort now has a formal name:
Back in February we reported that the Disney Vacation Club had plans to open its model units for the Graand Californian Villas before the beginning of the summer season. Not only is Disney going to meet that deadline, but it appears DVC members will be among the first to see the Vacation Club designs for "The Happiest Place on Earth."
