DVCNews.com has learned that conversion work on the Disney Vacation Club models at the Disneyland Resort is progressing rapidly, and Disney has a timeframe in mind for unveiling the models to the general public.
On February 5th 2008 the models passed both framing and electrical inspections. Sources indicate that these models will be available for viewing prior to the star of the busy summer season at the Disneyland Resort.
Additionally we have learned that the Disney Vacation Club will release additional information on the Grand Californian villas—including artist renderings of the villa interiors—in an upcoming issue of the Disney Files member magazine. This issue of Disney Files is scheduled for publication prior to the model unit Grand Opening.
Demolition work began in November 2007 to remove the existing Saratoga Springs Two Bedroom models and make way for the Grand California Two Bedroom model. The model layout will mirror the Two Bedroom villa floor plan recently featured on DVCNews.com.
Disney's Grand Californian villas are scheduled to open sometime in late 2009.
