In May 2016, 165,929 Disney Vacation Club points were sold by Disney Vacation Development for 11 of the 13 DVC resorts (sales for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort are not available). Although not as high as April 2016’s total of 191,803 points, May’s sale total is well above the average monthly sales amount for the last 12 months (124,655 points) and for the last six months (131,364 points).

Disney is renovating some hotel rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and converting to Disney Vacation Club villas. Access has been blocked to the hotel wing on the east side of the Lodge, which is the side closest to the existing villas, now dubbed Boulder Ridge Villas. Elevators that service that wing have been walled off.
