Walkway outside former Shutters location
Back in March, Disney began work on renovations at Vero Beach which will bring updates to all guest rooms, as well as extensive changes to the resort's dining options.
Charging stations now available in resort lobby
As of mid-October, all of the Inn rooms in the main building have been refurbished, along with villas in Building #15. Work on buildings 12 and 14 is expected to begin immediately after Thanksgiving. The six Beach Cottages will follow, with the entire project slated to wrap-up by summer 2017.
Photos of the renovated rooms can be found HERE.
Meanwhile, work also continues on reconfiguration of the resort's restaurants. The former Sonya's and Shutters are being combined to form the table service Wind and Waves Grill, as well as quick service Wind and Waves Market.
Poolside dining currently walled-off
November 13, 2016 is the target date for a soft opening of the new Wind and Waves Grill. It will accept only walk-ups during the soft opening. On November 20, the Grill should appear on the Disney Dining app for reservations.
Wind and Waves Market will open around the same time. Access will be provided via the pool area. Guests will be able to choose from a selection of grab & go items along with some hot entrees.
Former site of Bleachers Bar & Grill
Also planned for poolside is the new Wind and Waves Bar. The Bar replaces the multipurpose Bleachers Bar & Grill, offering a selection of unique cocktails, craft beers and light snacks.
Until the new restaurants debut, limited dining is still offered via the Green Cabin Room and the Sea Grape Banquet Hall (when available.)
Options include a $12 breakfast buffet, modestly-priced lunch and dinner entrees. The menu will vary, depending upon ingredient availability. Supply shortages attributed to Hurricane Matthew necessitated some recent adjustments.

The resort is also maintaining a character breakfast on Saturday mornings featuring Goofy and Donald Duck.
