The Sassagoula River Cruise watercraft service which connects Disney Springs to two Disney Vacation Club resorts will be unavailable for several days in late August 2023.
Website Orlando Theme Park News is reporting that the Sassagoula River boats will be unavailable from August 28-30, 2023. This service normally connects the Disney Springs shopping district to Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, as well as Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter.
The interruption in service is reportedly due to bridge refurbishment work.
It is not clear exactly which bridge will be closed for maintenance. One of the Sassagoula River Cruise docks, pictured above, is located on the eastern side of Disney Springs. This dock is also used as a walking path, allowing guests to make their way from Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs. However, there has been no word of this particular bridge closing.
While boat service is suspended, buses will still be available to transport guests from the three impacted resorts to-and-from Disney Springs.
