Disney Vacation Club is set to re-launch sales on the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa beginning March 3, 2022.
In May 2021, Disney Vacation Club announced it was expanding its presence at the Grand Floridian to include more than 200 new Resort Studio accommodations. In addition to bringing more rooms into the program, the expansion will give DVC about 1.8 million additional points to sell. Sales of those new points is now set to begin on March 3.
Information posted to the members-only website specifically states that "beginning March 3, 2020, Disney Vacation Club Members can add on to their membership", suggesting that initial sales may be limited to current owners. This is a practice DVC has employed in the past, giving current owners the first opportunity to buy at a new location before expanding sales to first-time buyers.
The new units are being added to the existing Condo Association, meaning that both new and old buyers will have access to the 200 new studios as well as the 100 two bedroom equivalent villas which opened back in October 2013.
Earlier this month, half of the new rooms were declared into the condo association. Accompanying documents provided a look at some of the room layouts to be included in the Big Pine Key building. Renovations on the new rooms are set to begin March 1 with an anticipated opening in Summer 2022.
Point charts have been released, with Resort Studio Standard and Lake View rooms matching the cost of existing Deluxe Studio villas at the Grand Floridian. A new Theme Park View Resort Studio will be offered with the highest costs of any DVC studio at Walt Disney World.
Grand Floridian prices remain unknown. Rates for Disney's Riviera Resort and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas recently rose to $207 per point. Not coincidentally, current promotions for Riviera and Aulani are set to expire on March 2. Expect that March 3 will bring new incentives for those locations, along with pricing for the new Grand Floridian points.
New buyers at the Grand Floridian will inherit the same January 31, 2064 ending date as existing owners. Ownership at Aulani is set to end in 2062 while Riviera runs into 2070.
