There is a lot of activity around Disney's BoardWalk, but still no clear indication of what improvements Disney has planned.
Disney's BoardWalk currently has no less than 3 vacant spaces, all on the western side of the resort nearest to the Disney Vacation Club villas. The last 3 years has seen the departure of Big River Grill & Brewing Works, BoardWalk Art Gallery and Jellyrolls Original Dueling Piano Showcase. Last month, Central Florida Tourism Oversight District filed paperwork to begin projects in the Big River Grill and Gallery spaces, though the finished product remains unclear.

The Jellyrolls space (above) is currently being gutted. As shown in the image above, construction walls surround the building as a large opening has been created in the front facade.

Workers are also performing some updates to the BoardWalk itself in a section nearest Atlantic Dance Hall.

Another look at the Jellyrolls space shows barriers on all sides, the large walls erected on the front, ladders and more. WDWMagic.com reports that a separate permit has been filed to install signage on the BoardWalk, though the nature of this installation remains unknown.
"Project Amazon" is the internal code name for work being performed at the Big River Grill site, while "Project Bubbles" is linked to the former gallery. Recent years have seen the conversion of BoardWalk Bakery into BoardWalk Deli, BoardWalk To Go to Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and ESPN Club to The Cake Bake Shop. Other remaining venues include Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno restaurants, Abracadabar and BoardWalk Ice Cream. Screen Door General Store is also located on the western side of the BoardWalk nearest the vacant spaces.
