The Skyway Bridge connecting Disney's Contemporary Resort to Bay Lake Tower has reopened following an extended closure to facilitate the resort refurbishment project.
Bay Lake Tower's Skyway Bridge is again open for guest use. The bridge closed back in January to aid crews refurbishing villas throughout the resort.
Along with the bridge, the south bank of elevators has also resumed servicing guests. This likely signals the midpoint in the room renovation project, with all villas on the south half of Bay Lake Tower either complete or nearing completion.
Guest room refurbishment was to be split into four separate phases. The remaining two phases would encompass rooms on the north side of the building. Each phase is taking 2.5 - 3 months to complete. The full project is expected to wrap-up by September 2025.
Updates to the rooms include the addition of pull-down convertible sofa beds, new solid surface flooring, colorful artwork themed to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and more. Check out our recent photos of the updated guest rooms at Bay Lake Tower.
