The walkway connecting the two buildings at Disney's Contemporary Resort is expected to be closed for three months at the start of 2025.
As expected, the Skyway Bridge between Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower is now closed. The closure is necessitated by room refurbishment taking place in the lower floor rooms on the south side of the building. It is expected to remain closed at least through the end of March, possibly into April.
During the closure, guests must move between the two buildings at ground level. Exit Bay Lake Tower at ground level and proceed to the A-frame tower, using elevators or escalators to reach the monorail platform, dining and shopping venues located on the 4th floor.
This is the first hard goods refurbishment of Bay Lake Tower rooms since its opening in 2009. Rooms are being updated with an entirely new look including pull-down sofa beds and twin beds, Magic Kingdom-themed artwork and more. See our prior coverage for details on the room updates. The refurbishment project is expected to run into September 2025.
