Crews are already making progress on the resort formerly known as Reflections - a Disney Lakeside Lodge.
In late November 2024, Disney confirmed that the eighteenth Disney Vacation Club destination would be Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Located on the former site of River Country waterpark, the resort project was first announced back in 2018 and given the name Reflections - a Disney Lakeside Lodge. It is situated on the shores of Bay Lake between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a halt to construction in early 2020. The site remained surrounded by construction fences, but was largely untouched for more than 4 years.
In the summer of 2024, the rumor mill started to pick up thanks to a series of new permits and permit renewals. Finally Disney confirmed plans to move forward with the resort, now renamed Disney Lakeshore Lodge.
While the resort footprint appears unchanged from the original plans, Disney has not yet revealed if design elements will match the original concept artwork from this "nature themed" development. Also unknown is whether or not the resort will still be a mixed-use facility with both hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas among its 900 rooms. The project is slated for completion in 2027.
