The Walt Disney Company has reached an agreement to purchase a 15-acre parcel of land in Maryland's Prince George County for a future 500-room resort project.

In this week's "Why For?" column, Jim Hill takes another look at Disney's abandoned plans for development in the heart of New York City.  If developed, the New York project would have featured a 47-story building to house hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club units, an indoor theme park and cross-promotional opportunities with Disney's Broadway shows.
