Disney's Art of Animation Resort announced

On Wednesday Disney announced that the long vacant structure originally slated to be the second half of Disney's Pop Century Resort will finally be completed.  No longer a part of Pop Century, the redubbed Disney's Art of Animation Resort will offer 1,120 Value suites and 864 hotel rooms.

The project has sat dormant for nearly 10 years now in the wake of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks and subsequent decline in tourism.  At one point, Disney reportedly considered repurposing the building as Value-class Disney Vacation Club units.
