Disney's Riviera Resort

Three years to the day after Disney’s Riviera Resort welcomed its first guests, Disney added more vacation homes which Disney Vacation Club members can book using points.

Disney’s Riviera Resort opened on December 16, 2019.  On December 16, 2022, Disney declared 25 more vacation homes for the DVC inventory, increasing the number of declared vacation homes from 199 to 224.  There are still 117 vacation homes that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney.

The 25 newly declared vacation homes are located on the ninth floor in the central part of the resort and the wing closest to Topolino’s Terrace.  The additional inventory has nine Residential Units containing three dedicated studios, two dedicated one-bedroom villas, 15 lockoff two-bedroom villas, four dedicated two-bedroom villas, and one three-bedroom grand villa.

Here is a breakdown of the types of vacation homes that have been declared for Riviera:

15 of 24 Tower Studios
25 of 38 Dedicated Studios
20 of 29 Dedicated One-Bedroom Villas
96 of 148 Lockoff Two-Bedroom Villas
59 of 90 Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villas
9 of 12 Grand Villas

In terms of points, this latest declaration adds 526,275 DVC points to Riviera’s DVC inventory.  It is the largest declaration made for the resort since October 2019 and it comes less than three months after the previous declaration, which was made on September 23, 2022.  The DVC inventory now contains about 4,461,722 points, or about 66.2% of the Riviera’s 6,7 million total points.   This means that on any given Use Day DVC members can book about 66.2% of the resort using DVC points.  The undeclared inventory remains under the control of Disney Vacation Development, which can use it for cash reservations, as models to show to prospective buyers, or any other reason it chooses.

In recent months, Riviera has outsold Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa by a significant margin. However that may change with a new round of incentives which favor Grand Floridian over Riviera

This is the seventh declaration for Riviera since sales began in March 2019.  Following is a list of all DVC declarations made for Riviera:
