Magic Kingdom Walking Path Now Back Open

Grand Floridian

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, the path connecting Disney's Grand Floridian Resort to Magic Kingdom has reopened to guests.

Grand Floridian Walking Path

In late 2020, Walt Disney World finally constructed a path allowing guests to walk between the Magic Kingdom theme park and Grand Floridian, with access continuing up to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Unfortunately, renovations on several Grand Floridian buildings necessitated closing that path back in February 2023. At the time, there was no specific guidance as to when the path would re-open.

On Friday May 26, the path reopened for guest use, just in time for the unofficial start of summer. Resort guests now have at least 3 options for transportation to-and-from the Magic Kingdom including the walking path, Disney monorail system and watercraft operating on Seven Seas Lagoon.

Crews have been systematically refurbishing all of the buildings at the Grand Floridian, most recently working on Sago Cay which is adjacent to the path.

In December 2022, Disney announced plans to refurbish the Grand Floridian's main lobby but no timeline has been revealed for that project.
