The path connecting Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to the Magic Kingdom is set to temporarily close later this month.
Beginning February 13, 2023 the pathway between Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom will close for several months. The exact reopening date is unclear but the closure is expected to last at least through the spring.
The closure is prompted by refurbishment work on guest room buildings at the Grand Floridian. Several of the buildings have been renovated, including Big Pine Key which now houses Disney Vacation Club villas. However Sago Cay near the walking path is among the buildings still in need of updates.
No alternate path will be provided. Guests will be unable to reach Magic Kingdom on foot from either Grand Floridian or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort until the work is complete.
