Disney has confirmed plans to refurbish the main lobby of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
A recent post to the Disney Parks Blog recapped recent and ongoing renovations to a variety of Walt Disney World resorts. Noted in the piece are the recently opened Disney Vacation Club Resort Studio rooms and ongoing refurbishment of hotel rooms. Grand Floridian rooms are spread across five freestanding buildings plus the main building. Two of those buildings--Big Pine Key and Boca Chica--are largely complete. A third--Conch Key--is currently being renovated.
Regarding the lobby, Disney had this to say: "The ongoing renovation will also include an upcoming refurbishment of the lobby, which will maintain the classic theming you know and love with some fresh new enhancements."
No specific timeframe has been revealed work on the lobby interior. A travel notice currently published for the resort dates back to March 1, 2022 when work began on the DVC Resort Studios. There is no mention of an end date.
Villas in the resort's original Disney Vacation Club building were refurbished in late 2021.
