This week we've been keeping you up to date with a series of DVC-related articles published on website About.com. Unfortunately the latest entry leaves a bit to be desired.
During her stay at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, author Charlyn Keating Chisholm took a trip over to the model rooms for the new Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas project. Sadly the published report is filled with factual errors regarding that project. For example:
"Starting in spring of 2009, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas will open at the Animal Kingdom Lodge."
Actually the first rooms opened to guest back in July 2007. The new facility, dubbed Kidani Village, is scheduled to open in 2009. But there are over 100 villas already available within the original Jambo House structure.
"The villas will be studio, one- and two-bedroom units, all with views of the savanna."
Members will be able to reserve a specific "Savanna View" room class, but there will be many (cheaper) DVC villas that do not overlook the savanna.
"The rooms have the same layout as all DVC villas, including the one-bedroom villa I'm staying at in Saratoga Springs..."
A particularly puzzling comment since the model units for DAKV are noticably different from the Saratoga Springs rooms. These differences are most noticable in the master bathroom where the layout is quite different from all previous DVC villas.
