Disney Vacation Club's latest webcast is a fine production starring travel guru Samantha Brown. The bulk of the presentation consists of a roughly 20 minute video examining nearly all aspects of the Aulani resort in Hawai'i. Plus, those participating in the webcast will gain access to special pricing which lowers purchase prices by an additional $2-5 per point.
At the conclusion of the webcast, pricing is given for two of the resorts currently being marketed by Disney Vacation Club--Aulani and the Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Add-on prices at the Bay Lake Tower for existing members is as follows:
$130 base price less $6 promotional discount; 50-99 points
$130 base price less $14 promotional discount; 100-149 points
$130 base price less $19 promotional discount; 150-199 points
$130 base price less $21 promotional discount; 200-269 points
$130 base price less $23 promotional discount; 270+
With the aded webcast incentives, members can add points at the Bay Lake Tower for as little as $107 per point. Note that additional fees may apply.
The Disney webcast claims that the Bay Lake Tower is expected to sell out by summer 2011. When DVC considers a resort "sold-out", members may still have the opportunity to add points as inventory becomes available. But there may be delays in the availability of those points and promotional incentives (such as the discounts of $6-23 off per point noted above) are often eliminated.
Webcast discounts for Aulani are even more appealing.
$120 base price less $14 promotional discount plus $300 prepaid Visa card; 100-149 points
$120 base price less $18 promotional discount plus $500 prepaid Visa card; 150-199 points
$120 base price less $20 promotional discount plus $700 prepaid Visa card; 200+
The above rates and point thresholds apply only to existing members. New buyers are also invited to attend separate webcast sessions. Offers for new buyers are similar but the specific terms will vary.
