Walt Disney World offers Value, Moderate, Deluxe and now Deluxe Villa resorts. What were once branded “Home Away From Home Resorts” and more recently “Disney Vacation Club Resorts” will go by a new name in the Disney lexicon.
Disney has posted the Rack Rates for most DVC accommodations at www.waltdisneyworld.com.
As previously reported, DVC’s new Doorway to Dreams sales center at the Woodfield Mall (Chicago area) is holding a sneak preview on August 1st to 3rd. New information released this week indicates that those wishing to attend the preview MUST RSVP in advance. Space is limited and reservations are required.
One of the most popular sites used to rent DVC points is the DISBoards.com. Members holding points they will not be able to use can post free classified ads in order to “rent” use of a single year’s points to a member or non-member seeking to vacation at one of the eight DVC resorts. Similarly, non-members can post a request for rental points, often saving hundreds of dollars off of Disney’s published rates for the same accommodations.
DVC’s new Doorway to Dreams sales center will have its grand opening on August 4th at the Woodfield Mall in suburban Chicago. This sales facility represents DVC’s first attempt to market Vacation Club ownership outside of a Disney venue (hotel, cruise ship, theme park, etc.) None other than Mickey Mouse will be on hand for the grand opening ceremony.
