Earlier this year DVC announced that the 2007 Condo Association Meeting would be held on December 4, with additional details to follow. Those details have now arrived.
The meeting will be held at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort at 2pm on Tuesday, December 4th.
There will be only a single meeting, representing all DVC resorts. In the past multiple meetings were held for each individual resort. According to DVC, the consolidated meeting format is a recognition of the fact that so many members now own points at more than one resort.
DVC summarizes the purpose of the meeting:
Beyond getting the latest information and updates about program enhancements from Disney Vacation Club leaders, Members also look to the annual meetings as key opportunities to reconnect with their Disney neighbors.
"The meetings have become quite the social events," Leigh Anne said. "Members stick around long after each meeting ends to visit with other Member families. By hosting one consolidated meeting, more Members than ever will be able to catch up with their neighbors and enjoy that sense of community."
The formal roles of the Condo Association Meeting are to approve the budgets for the upcoming calendar year and to ratify any pending amendments to the program guidelines. DVC members do not have individual voting rights in the operation of the program, thus the meeting should not be viewed as an opportunity to have a say in program management. However, DVC does typically provide for an open forum in which attending members may ask questions and share feedback with DVC management.
UPDATE: DVC is requesting that those wishing to attend the meeting register on DVCMember.com. Log into the member website and look for a graphic toward the bottom of the Homepage with the notation "Sign Up Now."
The description of the meeting has also been amended to indicate that the Hawaii and California DVC resorts will be discussed, and to confirm that there will be a Q&A session:
This year, get together with your fellow Members and learn about exciting new developments at Disney Vacation Club, including the latest Member events and upcoming Resort locations in Hawaii and California. You will also be given an opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences with others.
