Changes to Associate member and banking regs

DVC Policies & Procedures

Disney Vacation Club has made minor adjustments to the policies surrounding Associate members and DVC point banking.

Associate members are not deeded owners of a Disney Vacation Club contract.  They do not receive printed ID cards and are not eligible for any perks extended exclusively to members.  However, Associates do have the ability to manage the points in a DVC contract by making rservations, banking or borrowing points.

According to the revised Home Resort Rules and Regulations posted to DVCMember.com, the following conditions have been added to the naming of Associate members on DVC contracts:

a. Associates may only be Associates for a maximum of four (4) Memberships.
b. The adding of an Associate to a Club Member’s account is subject to the sole and absolute discretion of DVCMC.
c. An Associate can be removed from a Club Member’s account, by DVCMC in its sole and absolute discretion, for violating Disney Vacation Club rules.

The note on DVCMember.com also indicates changes to the point banking rules.  The change appears to be the last statement of the banking regulations which currently reads:

From time to time, DVCMC may provide for extended banking rights to Club Members during their first Use Year.

Disney Vacation Club has a long-standing policy of allowing new buyers to bank their first year's worth of points even if the normal banking deadline has already passed.  This policy adjustment would appear to formalize that process on DVC's behalf.
