In October 2011, direct sales of Disney Vacation Club points dropped to 170,441 points, the lowest monthly total since February 2011.  Not only is this a drop of 17.3% from September 2011, it is a drop of 21.4% compared to the average monthly sales (216,821 points) for the last 12 months. 

For the second consecutive month, more points were sold for Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa than any other Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort.

For the first time since late 2008, Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort was not the leader in the number of Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points sold for the month.  In August 2011, Bay Lake Tower's sales ranked third, trailing both Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas.

Disney Vacation Development (DVD) has been selling Disney Vacation Club points for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas since February 2007.  Although DVD is in the business of selling Vacation Club points to new and existing members, there are situations when it will buy back or otherwise reacquire some of those deeds and points.
