DVC Direct Sales - April 2014

Disney Vacation Development has about 726,000 declared-but-unsold Grand Floridian points in its inventory. However, all 23 declared Units have been assigned a Use Year. Since the September and March Use Years have only 10,653 and 13,153 points available, respectively, In the near future Disney Vacation Development will need to declare more Units if it runs low on points in those or other Use Years.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas -- Now that Disney Vacation Development is no longer actively marketing Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, its sales continue to decline. Only 15,684 points were sold, the fewest since December 2010 when 13,249 points were sold.

Although it sold 15,684 points in April 2014, Disney Vacation Development also reacquired 7,441 Animal Kingdom Villas points during the month. Almost all of these reacquired points were due to foreclosure proceedings. Taking into the account the points sold and reacquired, Disney Vacation Development has 199,761 Animal Kingdom Villa points it can sell to the general public. Since it can use some or all of these points to fund cash reservations or for other marketing purposes, it is not possible to know how many points are actually available for prospective buyers.

The sales data includes all eight DVC resorts at Walt Disney World, as well as Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. Point sales data is not available for the Villas at Disney's Grand California Hotel or for Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas. The data is compiled from deeds filed by Disney Vacation Development and recorded with the Orange County (FL) Comptroller, the Indian River County (FL) Clerk of Court, and the Beaufort County (SC) Register of Deeds.
