The Walt Disney World operating calendar for January 2013 reveals a policy change which fans may not appreciate.
Extra Magic Hours provides guests at Walt Disney World resort hotels--including Disney Vacation Club members--access to select theme park attractions for several hours after the parks close to non-resort guests. On most operating days one theme park opens an hour early for resort guests while another park remains open for three additional hours.
Beginning in January 2013 the evening Extra Magic Hours at Florida's Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios will be reduced from three hours to only two hours after scheduled closing.
The change is reflected in the operating calendar for January 2013, and in the Extra Magic Hours description on the official Disney website which now reads:
"Each day, one of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks opens one hour early or remains open up to 2 hours after regular closing time."
Evening Extra Magic Hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom were discontinued in February 2011.
