There are a couple of apps worth checking out for owners of Apple portable devices--one an upgrade to a previously-released app and the other brand new.

The first app is an upgrade to the D Point Disney Vacation Club point tracking application.  D Point allows users to quickly calculate the cost of a stay at any of the 11 DVC resorts by selecting a resort / villa size / view and entering travel dates and trip duration.

D Point also features some rudimentary point tracking features, allowing members to keep tabs on their overall point usage.

The latest update features compatibility with the forthcoming iOS 5.0 as Dis Photowell as some other fixes including:

  • Improved iOS v4.0 & v4.1 & 5.0 compatibility
  • Updated resort contact phone numbers
  • Improved compatibility with foreign language calendars

Additional details on D Point can be found by visiting Apple.com or the iTunes store. It is compatible with both iPod / iPhone and iPad devices, and is currently priced at $1.99.

The other app is Dis Photo A Day.  This brand new app has been released in conjunction with DisneyPhotographyBlog.com.  It brings users a new photo from Disneyland, Dis PhotoWalt Disney World or one of the non-park Disney Vacation Club resorts every single day.  Daily updates are automatically downloaded.

The app also features a "random photo" feature for those who need more than one photo per day to feed their Disney fix.  The best photos can even be flagged as favorites or used as wallpaper for the iOS device.

Dis Photo A Day is also priced at $1.99 and compatible with all iOS devices.  Details available at Apple.com or the iTunes store.
