Walt Disney World's touch activation system for smarphones and watches now support mobile payments, and includes a selection of virtual card designs themed for the 50th anniversary celebration.

MagicMobile

In spring 2021, Disney launched MagicMobile, ostensibly as a replacement for its MagicBand technology which is no longer complimentary to resort guests. Using supported iPhones, Apple Watches and Android Smartphones, guests can use their device to tap-to-enter theme parks and attraction entrances supporting the new Genie+ paid services.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, functionality has now expanded to support food and merchandise purchases made by Disney resort guests.

MagicMobile must be initialized via the My Disney Experience app. Within the app, tap on the three horizontal bars in the menu line and look for the Disney MagicMobile option. There guests can create their own virtual pass which is added to the Apple Wallet or Android device.

Along with the new functionality, Disney released a series of MagicMobile virtual ID cards themed to the 50th anniversary event. Characters include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Olaf, Figment R2-D2 and more. There is also a unique Disney Vacation Club card design, Passholder designs, "food favorites" and more.

MagicBand technology continues to operate with guests able to utilize bands from prior trips or purchase new ones. Guests can also request a complmentary Key to the World card during resort check-in which mirrors most of the MagicBand and MagicMobile functionality.
