A slimmed-down version of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will launch with the park's July 15 reopening, while several other Walt Disney World events are either cancelled or in limbo.
The 2020 edition is dubbed "A Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival." Due to newly-required safety measures, gone is the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. Disney's release makes no mention of wine and food seminars or celebrity guests. But there will be more than 20 "signature global marketplaces" scattered around the park. And the fall--now summer--festival will borrow a Remy topiary from the Flower & Garden festival.
Event merchandise will not be available until later in the year. No ending date was revealed for the event which typically runs from late August until mid-November.
Meanwhile Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the H2O Glow Nights at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon have been cancelled. With no immediate plans to offer parades, stage shows or fireworks at the parks, Disney determined that it could not provide adequate guest value during these events.
Refunds will be provided to those who have already purchased event tickets.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays are still being evaluated for later this year. Disney plans to monitor the COVID-19 situation in the coming months before deciding whether or not these events can occur as planned.
