DVCNews Debates: Reservation changes

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

Disney Vacation Club has very liberal policies with regard to making changes to existing reservations.  Members can add and delete days at will and even change the names of guests listed on the reservation.

While these policies are often helpful to members whose plans change, they also create opportunities for abuse.  Members looking to maximize rental income can reserve peak travel periods and alter the names on the reservation once a rental partner has been found.  Members can even circumvent the 11/7 month booking windows by reserving a room weeks ahead of the intended travel dates and then continuing to add and delete dates over time.

DVCNews Debates: Member gatherings

For nearly a decade now, Disney Vacation Club has hosted the Merry Member Mixer gatherings to help owners celebrate the holiday season.  But with many owners unable or unwilling to travel during this time of year, there are undoubtedly many who cannot attend.

Do you enjoy the tradition of the Member Mixers or should DVC consider putting the money toward a perk or event in which more members can participate?

There always seem to be too many Disney Vacation Club resorts and not enough time to stay at them all.

Most members have resorts they haven't quite made it to yet.  What is yours?

DVCNews Debates: PAP discount impact

mt_ignore:DVCNews Debates

Beginning on October 1, Disney Vacation Club members are eligible to purchase a Walt Disney World Premium Annual Pass for just $399.  That's a savings of $300 off the normal price.

Additionally, members can also purchase a PAP voucher to be redeemed in 2013, giving some two full years worth of heavily discounted admission.

With that level of savings available, it stands to reason that some members have altered their plans for the next couple of years in order to take advantage of this offer.  Perhaps a trip to Disneyland or Aulani was cancelled in favor or more time in Florida.  Or perhaps additional trips were added to maximize use of the Premium Annual Passes.
