Last week Disney announced that the Bay Lake Tower's Top of the World lounge would be accessible to all Disney Vacation Club members staying on points for the next 7 weeks.  While the lounge does provide a unique environment for enjoying the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks show, it is not the most accessible location.  The resort is isolated from most other DVC properties.  Parking is limited and direct bus transportation is not provided between resorts.

Topic:  Would you visit the Top of the World lounge when staying at other resorts--particularly if this new benefit is extended beyond the announced ending date?

Disney resorts make a concerted effort to get arriving guests into their rooms as quickly as possible.  Between the online check-in--which asks guests to specify their arrival time--and "room ready" assignment process, there is clearly an emphasis placed on getting guests settled as soon as villas are available.  But sometimes that eagerness results in necessary room maintenance being ignored and/or cleaning not being as thorough as it could be.

Topic:  Do you feel Disney does an acceptable job of preparing rooms for arriving guests or should more time be devoted to cleaining and maintenance before rooms are released?

In general, Disney Vacation Club members seem fairly generous with their points.  After all, using a few extra points to book a larger villa for guests is a bit more palatable than paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for someone else's Disney hotel room.  

But treating friends, family, coworkers and other associates to Disney accommodations raises the issue of compensation--what, if anything, should the guest pay for the lodging provided?

The Owner's Locker storage solution provides customers with their own personalized container to store vacation essentials between Orlando-area resort stays.  There are many things to like about Owner's Locker such as the convenience of not having to pack and re-pack the same items over and over again, the fact that stored items will never be forgotten at home, the personalized service, etc.

Among the major advantages of larger Disney Vacation Club Villas are the in-room washer and dryer.  Even Deluxe Studio guests have access to complimentary public laundry facilities.  

With airline baggage fees growing and weight limits shrinking, easy access to laundry facilities would seem to be a major advantage to staying in DVC villas.
