Owners can now register to attend the Board of Directors Meetings on Thursday, September 26, 2024 for any Disney Vacation Club resorts at which they own points.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
A recent change in Florida law now requires Disney Vacation Club to hold quarterly Board of Directors meetings for each Florida-based condominium association. This is a significant change from prior regulations which allowed them to hold a single December annual meeting for all resorts.
The first quarterly meetings are set for September 26, 2024 at the convention center of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Meeting times for each resort are as follows:
- Copper Creek Villas & Cabins: 9:00am
- Disney's Riviera Resort: 9:45am
- Boulder Ridge Villas: 10:30am
- Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows: 11:15am
- Disney's Beach Club Villas: 12:00pm
- Disney's BoardWalk Villas: 1:15pm
- The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort: 2:00pm
- Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas: 2:45pm
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort: 3:30pm
- Disney's Vero Beach Resort: 4:15pm
- Disney's Old Key West Resort: 5:00pm
- Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort: 5:45pm
DVC members can attend meetings only for resorts at which they own points. To RSVP, visit the DVC members-only website and click on the link for Condominium Association News & Notices. Expand the section labeled "Updated Information About Your Association Meetings" for the link. The deadline to RSVP is September 20.
The changes to Florida law do seemingly require the board to respond to questions from attendees. There are also provisions for recording the proceedings. However, it is not expected that DVC will offer a live stream or other remote participation.
Official business conducted by the board is often very brief. Each meeting is allotted only 45 minutes.
The next series of meetings are planned for December 10-11 with time and location TBA. A general session and reception will be hosted on December 12 in place of the planned consolidated meeting.
Quarterly meetings are not required for any of the non-Florida properties, nor for The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort which is legally configured as a Trust rather than a condominium association.
