Florida-Based Disney Vacation Club Resorts Shifting to Quarterly Board Meetings

DVC Policies & Procedures

In order to comply with new Florida regulations, Disney Vacation Club condominium associations located in the state will expand from an annual meeting schedule to quarterly meetings.

Disney Vacation Club Condo Meeting 2022

Disney Vacation Club has revealed that is plans to begin hosting quarterly board meetings for each of its Florida-based condo associations. On a new quarterly schedule, board meetings will be held four times per year. The first of these meetings is planned for September 26, 2024. The location, time and RSVP method will be posted later.

Historically, DVC would host a single combined board of directors meeting, member meeting and general program update session every December at Walt Disney World. The meeting planned for December 12, 2024 will still occur as scheduled, however the format will shift to a general session and reception hosted by DVC leadership. Board and Member meetings for each of the impacted resorts will occur on December 10 and 11 with schedule information provided at a later date.

The changes were part of Florida HB 1021 which went into effect on July 1, 2024. For residential condominiums of 10 or more units, meetings must be held at least once per quarter. During those meetings, owners must be permitted to ask questions of the board regarding the status of construction or repair projects, budgetary matters and other condo-related topics. All owners are permitted to attend the meetings and may record or videotape the proceedings. The full text of HB 1021 can be found here

DVC stresses that members can only attend meetings for resorts they own, suggesting that smaller-scale sessions will be conducted for each individual property.

Impacted resorts include:

  • Disney's Old Key West Resort (Disney Vacation Club Resort)
  • Disney's Vero Beach Resort
  • Disney's BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney's Beach Club Villas
  • The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas
  • Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Disney's Animal Kindgom Villas
  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
  • The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
  • Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins
  • Disney's Riviera Resort

Quarterly meetings will not be held for The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort due to its status as a trust rather than a condominium association. Resorts located outside of Florida are also not impacted.
