Walt Disney World is currently experimenting with the removal of clock radios from its Deluxe Resorts. The reasoning behind the move is that--in 2015--few guests actually use the radios. Disney believes that most guests now rely on smartphones or tablets available to serve a similar function, and would appreciate the extra space on resort night stands made possible without the presence of the clock radio.
