More Disney Vacation Club Villas, an expanded pool, a new restaurant and waterside cabins are just a few of the additions set to debut at Disney's Wilderness Lodge in 2017.
At the recent Condominium Assocation Meeting, DVC Senior Vice President and General Manager Ken Potrock confirmed that Copper Creek Villas & Cabins--the fourteenth vacation club property--would launch sometime in 2017. The Boulder Ridge Cove pool depicted below includes a zero entry area and water tower themed slide. Covered patios and expanded deck space are also featured.
Geyser Point Bar & Grill is the new waterside food service option under construction.
The restaurant features both table service and quick service dining alternatives.
Meanwhile, twenty-six stand-alone cabins are being constructed along the resort's shoreline. DVC confirmed that each cabin will sleep 8 guests, suggesting a design and amenities very similar to their sister units at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Fourteen of the cabins will line the eastern side of the resort adjacent to Boulder Ridge Cove pool (first photo below) while the other twelve bungalows sit more to the northwest facing in the direction of the Magic Kingdom (second and third photos below.)
Finally, renovations continue on several hundred hotel rooms being converted to DVC villas in the main lodge. DVC executives confirmed that rooms will sleep up to twelve guests, indicating the presence of three bedroom Grand Villas. Deluxe Studio, One and Two Bedroom villas are also expected to be included in the new Copper Creek phase.
Disney has apparently clamped-down on security in recent weeks. All visible guest rooms undergoing renovations now have patio doors masked to screen the activity from onlookers.
