Disney Vacation Club members staying at the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will find one resort swimming hole unavailable for nearly 3 months later this fall.
The Silver Creek Springs pool at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is scheduled to be closed Wednesday, September 3 through Thursday, November 27, 2014. General refurbishment work and maintenance are the posted resaons for the closure.
During the closure the Hidden Springs quiet pool will remain available. Wilderness Lodge guests will also be permitted to use the feature pools at Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Shuttle trasnportation will be provided between Wilderness Lodge and the other two properties.
There is no word on whether or not modifications will be made to the Silver Creek Springs pool during the closure. In 2013 Disney revealed plans to place gates around every resort feature pool, ostensibly for security purposes. To date, no existing pools have been modified to add gates or other barriers.
All feature pools now have posted operating hours with lifeguards on duty whenever facilities are open to gueets.
