One Disney Vacation Club resort will soon see its Deluxe Studio villas modified with sleeping accommodations for up to five guests.
Disney Vacation Club surprised owners by designing Deluxe Studio units at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort to sleep up to 5 total guests. A twin-size Murphy Bed joined the queen-size bed and sleeper sofa, making Studio villas a viable alternative for larger families.
This move may be the start of a larger trend in DVC villa design.

During a scheduled hard goods refurbishment in 2014, Deluxe Studio rooms at the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will be modified to sleep up to 5 guests. DVC reps could not confirm the exact makeup of the "fifth sleeper" option, but space limitations suggest a Murphy Bed similar to the Grand Floridian.
In recent years, Disney Vacation Club has added twin-size sleeper chairs to many One and Two Bedroom villas. This particular addition is not planned for the Wilderness Lodge. After completion of the refurbishment, plans currently call for Deluxe Studio villas to sleep 5 guests while larger One Bedroom villas will only sleep 4.
"Hard goods refurbishment' is the term Disney uses to describe its most comprehensive room renovations. Nearly all aspects of the room are replaced or refinished including furniture, fixtures, appliances, linens, flooring, wallcoverings and more.
The refurbishment of the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will commence in 2014, although an exact start date has not yet been provided.
