Nobody likes to hear about refurbishments but they are a necessary evil when it comes to a resort / theme park complex that is open 365 days per year. This time the unlucky ones will be those booked at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in March 2009.
Following is the statement DVCNews.com obtained from Disney Vacation Club representatives:
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be doing a rehab of the High Rock Springs feature pool March 9-27, 2009. During this time, the Resort hotel's leisure pools will remain open. Members wishing to have a feature pool (pool with a slide) experience are welcome to use the pool at Disney's Old Key West Resort or to pool hop to any feature pool with the exceptions of Stormalong Bay at Disney's Beach Club Villas and Uzima Springs at Disney's Animal Kingdom VIllas. Members are encouraged to check with a host/hostess at the front desk of the Resort hotel they wish to visit to find out more about pool-access availability. In addition, Members must present their current "Key to the World" card with their Disney Vacation Club "Member" designation on it to use other Resort hotel pools.
Members with confirmed reservations at Saratoga Springs are also being contacted with similar information. As noted, the three leisure pools at Saratoga Springs will remain open during the High Rock Spring rehab. These leisure pools are located in Congress Park, The Grandstand and The Paddock. Guests may also pool-hop to eligible resort pools at Walt Disney World.
