Since its debut, Walt Disney World has made a habit of performing annual maintenance on the Skyliner transportation system around the end of January. 2024 will be no different, as portions of the Skyliner route will be closed between January 16 - 27.

The Skyliner system connects at least 4 resorts--Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort--to both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios theme parks. Scheduled closure dates for each of the three routes are as follows:

  • Pop Century and Art of Animation to Caribbean Beach: Closed January 16-21
  • Caribbean Beach to Hollywood Studios: Closed January 16-21
  • Caribbean Beach to Riviera to EPCOT: Closed January 16-27

Of particular note for Disney Vacation Club members is the impact on Riviera resort guests. From January 16-27, Skyliner transportation will be unavaialble to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Instead, bus service will be provided from Riviera to the two theme parks.

Additionally, guests staying in the Crescent Lake area, at resorts like Disney's Beach Club Villa and Disney's BoardWalk Villas, will be unable to use the Skyliner to access Hollywood Studios. Watercraft service and walking paths will remain available to serve these resorts.

It is not uncommon for the maintenance window to be slightly modified and even shortened. Guests visiting the impacted resorts should look for posted signage or speak to a front desk cast member to confirm changes to the operational schedule.
