Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows Construction Update - September 2026

While visible construction is still taking place at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, work is mostly limited to the Great Ceremonial House

The rear (north) and west sides of the Great Ceremonial House are still covered in scaffolding as crews work to renovate the 50+ year old structure. The outdoor Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace remains closed while the interior lounge is open to guests daily.

Entry to and from the Great Ceremonial House remains largely unimpacted. The side doorway, stairs and ramp are avaialble for guest use. However, as of mid-September, the walkway between the Aotearoa and Fiji buildings was closed.

During the walkway closure, guests were forced to take a slight detour up the marina between the Fiji and Tuvalu buildings. No word on how long the closure may last.

The resort's new main entrance and bus stops are availabel to guests. Over at Island Tower, recent work to the building entrance and the roof of Wailulu Bar & Grill is complete.

Disney's current refurbishment notice claims that various refurbishment projects will continue through the end of 2026.
