Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has been available for purchase for less than six months and open to guests for about three months. To keep up with demand, Disney has now declared about one third of the vacation homes at Island Tower for the timeshare inventory.
On March 18, 2025, Disney declared 18 more vacation homes for the timeshare inventory at the Polynesian’s new Island Tower. This latest declaration increases the number of vacation homes that DVC members can book using points from 54 to 72. There are still 150 vacation homes at Island Tower that have not yet been declared and are still under the control of Disney.
The 18 newly declared vacation homes are located on the third floor in the central and south end of the tower building. Included in this declaration are two residential units numbered 90A and 90B that have nine vacation homes each. Together, the two units have two Duo Studios, five Tower Studios, five dedicated One-Bedroom villas, and six Lockoff Two-Bedroom Villas. In terms of Disney Vacation Club points, Unit 90A has 175,698 DVC points allotted to it, while unit 90B has 159,840 points for a combined total of 335,538 DVC points.
One of the Tower Studios appears to be an accessible villa. It has a hinged balcony door rather than a sliding door as used in the other villas.
This latest declaration brings the number of declared points at Island Tower to 1,185,190 points, which is 32.8% of the building's 3,608,934 estimated total points. The breakout of declared vacation homes by type is as follows:
- 15 of 39 Duo Studios
- 26 of 91 Tower Studios
- 9 of 26 Dedicated One-Bedroom Villas
- 18 of 46 Lockoff Two-Bedroom Villas
- 2 of 16 Dedicated Two-Bedroom Villas
- 2 of 4 Two-Bedroom Deluxe Villas
The 150 vacation homes not yet declared are under the control of Disney. It can use those accommodations as cash reservations, for marketing purposes, or any other reason Disney chooses.
Although the legally-declared rooms are located on the building's third floor, incoming guests can be assigned any matching accommodation type on any floor of the building.
