A recent article at Forbes.com claims that the 10-story building dubbed Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will add a total of 268 rooms to the timeshare association. The rooms will be a combination of 2-person Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, One Bedroom and Two Bedroom villas. Also featured are Two Bedroom Penthouse Villas which will sleep up to 9 guests.

Forbes also reiterates that Island Tower will be an addition to the current Polynesian condominium association, granting all current and future owners 11-month booking access to both the original DVC development and the new tower. Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows originally opened back in 2015 with 360 Deluxe Studio rooms and 20 watertop Bungalows.

Back in December 2023, Disney initally confirmed that Island Tower would be part of the existing condo association. However, subsequent comments about that being the "current plan" introduced a degree of uncertainty. Sales licensing for the new tower remains incomplete. However, various public statements have consistently reaffirmed plans to roll the tower into the existing association

Cash reservations open June 4, 2024 with an expected opening in December 2024.
